Delicious Goat Cheese + Sundried Tomato Stuffed Burgers

A big, juicy burger is a staple in the American diet, but can be loaded with saturated fat and calories.  This recipe for a goat cheese + sundried tomato stuffed burgers is a gourmet twist on your everyday cheeseburger with bursts of flavor hidden in every bite.

Ingredients: (Serves 4)

4, 4oz. lean ground chicken (or turkey)

4 tbsp. soft goat cheese (crumbled)

4 sundried tomatoes (chopped)

Onions (chopped-I like to use a lot)

1/4 cup soy sauce

1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce

Directions:
  1. Set your oven to “Broil.”  Separate your lean ground meat into 4 patties (~4 oz. each)

  2. Chop the onions

  3. In a bowl, add soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce (you should hear me try to pronounce that lol), chopped sundried tomatoes, onions, and goat cheese

  4. Dip each burger (both sides) into bowl to coat.  Place on oven tray lined with tin foil and cook ~8-10 minutes each side (varies depending on thickness of burger)

  5. Serve on a whole-wheat bun, alongside two easy side dishes to complete the meal. I chose: Garlic+Mustard Haricot Verts and some of Annie’s Pasta.

Trust me, these bold flavors hold their own so there’s no need for ketchup or mustard,  And for less than 160 calories each (without the bun), this recipe satisfies that greasy burger craving without the guilt.

Enjoy!
